In the wild peahens make their nests of leaves, sticks and grass, and locate them in the undergrowth of forests. Sometimes peahens that are setting on the nests are attacked by coyotes, foxes and homeless dogs. Nests are often destroyed by such animals as opossums, raccoons and skunks.
