The head of these ornamental birds is small with a strong bill. Their neck is relatively long and the legs are long as well. Males weigh 9-13 pounds and females weigh 6-9 pounds. The length of males is 3-4 feet excluding the tail and females are 2, 5 – 3, 5 feet. Peafowl live approximately 18 years in the wild.
